This self proclaimed bookworm has a degree in English and American literature, graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. The daughter of a German mother and an Indian father was raised in California, before she moved to New York.

Until drama came to her life, Rawat’s first love was writing which she also wanted to pursue writing as a career. She eventually graduated with a double degree in hand. One in drama and the other in literature.

Her first big break came with her role in the hit series the O.C. where she played the role of Theresa Diaz. But she is best known for her role as Amita Ramanujan on Numb3rs, where she displays cool intelligence and vulnerability as a brilliant mathematics and astrophysics professor who assists Charlie Eppese. This versatile actor has also worked in the film “House of sand and fog” for which her role was critically acclaimed. She recently appeared in films like “Feast” (2005) and “Loveless in Los Angeles” (2006).
